New Shoes and new Pillow

So thought I would share another few pictures and funny moments in our weekend.
On Saturday afternoon Sam took a nice long nap as she was tired...She loves this pink puppy she has had since she was a baby and suddenly she found a new use for it.
Ironically enough the pink puppy is Chewy's favorite toy too so it has become a crib only toy...

Also this weekend we bought Sam her first pair of "real shoes"..Her she is with them on right after we got them at the outlet mall.

We got her pink sneakers....She is trying to figure out how to get them off..i am sure it is only a matter of time.
And final funny story is last night Dan, Chewy and I all crawled into bed exhausted and had made sure the baby monitor was up loud enough we could hear Sam..and just as I turned the light out we could hear "Belly button that is my belly button, you have one too"...It is really loud high pitched voice..It is a frog toy that she has that when you touch its arm, hand, leg, foot, and belly button it talks about each body part... Well needless to say Sam was really restless in bed last night and the thing kept going off..I think she kept rolling into it.So Dan and I were cracking up in bed for like 10 minutes..Finally we got up and snuck into her room and took it out of the crib. So future mental note no frog in the crib at night unless we want to listen to "Hand, this is my hand, I have two just like you!!!".

A visit from Flat Stanley.....

So my best friend Seetal is living in California right next to wine country... Her son Akash is in school now and was reading Flat Stanley. Which is a story about a little boy who gets squished like a pancake but is fine otherwise and he can be mailed all over the world to have adventures..So Akash picked us to host Flat STanley at our house for a visit. We were asked to take some pictures with him doing things we do and in some local attire...So here is what we came up with..

Dinner with our neighbors Jennifer and Bayson, yummy Thai food...

Taking a nap with Sam.

Having a glass of wine with our friends Kristin and Stan.

Wearing some local attire....

Which is how we got to this picture...heheheh this is probably one of my new favorite pictures...In case you were wondering that hate lasted all of 10 seconds on her head...

Ceiling not made for Chicken...

Okay this is way too funny not to share..

So two nights ago around 6 o'clock I was making dinner for Dan and I and since Sam just started table food wasn't sure how much she was going to be able to eat so I put an organic frozen chicken, wheat pasta and veggies in the microwave to heat up for her.. Right at that time Dan comes in from work and we all go say hi (yes I say we all meaning, me (walking), Sam (crawling) and Chewy (sprinting and doing whatever she has to to get around me and Sam). So we do that whole greeting he goes and changes and comes into the kitchen to help out as dinner is not quite ready. Sam is getting a little ansy so I am putting her in her high chair and I ask Dan to check on Sam's food in the microwave to see if it is warm enough. Nope it wasn't so puts it back in for another 30 seconds then it is too hot. (Hard to get it just right) so he takes it out and has taken my trick of putting things in the freezer for a minute or two to cool it off..So as he goes to put it in the freezer I am not sure what happens exactly all I see as I look up in slow mo is the container sliding out of Dans hand and mashed up chicken, veggies and pasta go everywhere..I mean everywhere. All over Dan's face, all over the paperwork I had out of the island, all over the cabinets on the other side of the kitchen and all over the ceiling....I had just gotten Sam all buckled in to the high chair and honestly I was so shocked I ran over and just started cracking up. I really wanted to get my camera to get this on film but Dan was soo speechless I thought better and started handing him paper towels as he tells me he has it in his eyes too...
Needless to say our ceiling has officially been initiated into the baby food...

also my new favorite part of my day is when I go in to get Sam for the day she is usually awake and standing in her crib waiting for me...(hello it is 6AM time to get up according to Sam) She gets all excited and usually starts jumping up and down..so precious..one of these days I need to film that..

Hope everyone has a great weekend...

NYC and crawling all in one week

Yup Sam is definitely a champion crawler. She is crawling all over the place, pulling up on anything she can and cruising along all furniture, tables, the wall basically anything. So fun and cute but a tad dangerous as so far she has had two bruises on her forehead. Poor thing but I guess that is part of learning.

On the weight front I have been down about 1 pound below pre-maternity for almost a month now...YEah.... I do think having the stomach bug twice in three weeks totally helped that but oh well it was the added kick I needed apparently... Although some of my pants still don't fit. It is true the body does not go back to original shape right away or 10 months later in my case...

Dan and I had our first trip away a few weeks ago. We went to NYC and NEw Jersey for a long weekend. We went to see my 100 (almost 101) year old grandmother "Nana". She turned 100 last June right after I had Sam and the whole family went up for the celebration however I was still healing from my c-section 2 weeks earlier... So Dan and I made the trip to spend some time with her. She did however come down with pneumonia while we were in transit so our visits were at the hospital. She is feeling much better now and been released from the hospital..yeah..Nana really enjoyed telling Dan all kinds of funny stories about me and the family. Dan will I am sure be holding those tidbits of info over my head forever...heheeh I think Nana has a minor crush on Dan..She wanted him to stay.... awwwww

In the evenings we went into NYC (from our Jersey City hotel) and that was a lot of fun and time to catch up with some friends. Friday night we took the train into the World Trade Center (still makes me tear up everytime) and then I had the brilliant idea to walk from there to Little Italy where we were meeting our friends.. Little did we know it was freezing and super windy. I had my gloves, hat, scarf and Dan just had his coat on. At one point I looked over and he says to me "My face is frozen!" Poor guys. Needless to say we pulled into a little bar to warm up and grab a drink before meeting our friends Chris and Heather for dinner... Saturday night we again met up with Chris and Heather and another fun couple we met at their wedding Phyllis and Chris for Moroccan food. It was delicious...I was trying all kinds of new foods I was super proud... Then we had dessert at a little truck that travels all over Manhattan. Might have been the best molten chocolate cake ever. Then Sunday night met Chris and Heather (who I am sure were so sick of us heheheh) again for dinner as well as my dear friend from high school Cassetty. So much fun to catch up. However Dan and I did get on the wrong train and took us about an extra 30 minutes to get to dinner. oh well... All in all nice weekend to visit with family and friends...

Dan and I went to a dinner party last weekend and Sam got to spend some with with Erik, Sarah and Alyson. I think she loved that.. She ate dinner with them and apparently her and Alyson had a spitting contest. See the two of them together are TROUBLE.... But so cute!!!

Also Sam had her 9 month check up last week and here are her stats
Height29.5 inches 100%
Weight 23 pounds 97%

We also made the transition from baby food to table food. This child eats almost anything. She has not met a piece of macaroni or chicken she doesn't like..hehe

Also Dan's grandmother and Aunt Vic were in town a few weeks ago for a nice visit. It was super fun to spend time with them and for them to get to know Samantha. We took a really cute picture of the 4 generations.

Okay here are a few pics to round out my post.

Samantha is coming to get my camera...she has a grin on her face because she is about to reach her hand out to try and snag it from me.

Samantha also has found she loves my purse. I used to leave it on the floor in our bedroom but not so much anymore. She has managed to take out my wallet and sunglasses and lipsticks...She then parades around with them... Well as best she can crawling... Such a funny little girl...
