Better late then never

We went to our dear friends the McBrayer's boys birthday party back in March. They did a cowboy themed party for both boys. Will turned 4 and Adam turned 2. She just sent out all the pictures and I really liked this one of us so much wanted to share it... Clearly we didn't dress up as honestly I didn't have anything that would fit me at that stage of pregnancy...But doesn't Sam look cute in her floral capris....Such a fashionista!!!!

Funny because she is now getting into clothes and loves picking her clothes out for example she had to wear a specific shirt today with polka dots so I got out the shorts to put with it and she didn't like them so took us a few tries to find matching shorts that she would agree too. Oh boy are we in trouble if this is starting this early....

Baseball Game

So our neighborhood puts on an event where we get to go to the Rough Riders baseball game every summer and we had that event on Tuesday night. We usually meet up with our neighbors Laura and Scott and their kids Kate and Will. It is such a nice night we get to eat hamburgers and hot dogs and chips and drinks..Fun night was had by all and the kids all did a good job this year of actually staying in their seats and keeping occupied.

We did not get a great family picture as Sam was scared of the mascot. It was a big furry ground hog or ferret thing. It had just walked by when this picture was taken so she was hanging onto her Daddy for dear life.

Playing with Daddy's glasses. Hey at least it is a step up from last year she entertained herself with the cup holders. This year it was Daddy's glasses.

Happy Baby enjoying a baseball game with her Daddy!!!

Sam's 2nd birthday party

We had Sam's 2nd birthday party this past weekend. We decided to invite friends and family and hold it outdoors at a local park. Luckily we rented out half a pavilion and it was hot but at least we had some shade. The party got off to a little bit of a later start due to the fact that the pavilion was not set up properly for the party. Oh well learning you can't sweat the small stuff in life. So once that got settled all the kids and parents put on their bathing suits and went down to the splash park . Everyone had a blast except Sam and her best friend from school Sophie. Apparently they were a little uneasy with it. hmm weird since they both love water so much. Then everyone came back up after about 45 minutes to the pavilion and we had a pizza lunch. Then ice cream and cupcakes and the kids opened up the take home gifts of bubbles and had a blast. Overall the party was a huge success and Sam had a great time. Here are a few of the pics we got.

Here is Sam at the beginning of the party with Aly and Sophie.

The kids at the water park. Sam proceeded to not want to get in..hmmm weird since she loved it last year...

The cupcake cake from Market Street. It was a big hit!!

Long holiday weekend

This is what Sam looked like after a long and super fun holiday weekend...

Totally sacked out after lunch on Monday with all the grandparents.

Sam's big girl bed has finally arrived....

We ordered Sam's big girl furniture almost 11 weeks ago and last weekend the bed finally came in (yes we are still waiting on the nightstand and dresser). So we ran out on the holiday weekend and ordered the mattresses and after they got delivered the next day (yes love next day delivery) we showed Sam her big girl bed with a trundle and she took right to it. She will hopefully be moving out of the nursery and into her big girl room in July. We just wanted her to get used to it for a few weeks first.

Sam striking a pose in her pink room on her new bed. (yes I do have bedding for her I just hadn't had a chance to wash it or put it on yet).

Sam trying to get me to come sit with her on the bed. After this what you don't see if Chewy getting on as well and then her trying to push both of us off...HEEHEH

Birthday Gifts

Sam turned 2 last week and for her birthday we got her a few bigger items this year that she just loves. First she got a water play sink which I think we show on a previous post as we gave it to her early. Then on her actual birthday we gave her a safety small trampoline. Just like her cousin Alyson's that she loves. And we put it together the night of her birthday and haven't been able to get her off it since. It is the first thing she asks for most of the time when she wakes up and when she comes home from school....

Here are a few pics of Sam with her new trampoline:

Here Sam is with her Daddy right after he put it together for her..Literally she was trying to get on it as he was assembling it.
Here she is getting going that same night. She bounced for a very very long time.
She has also learned she loves to fall into a sitting position..all kinds of fun things to do on a trampoline...
Right now the trampoline is taking up residence in our downstairs living room but I have a feeling it will be going upstairs to her playroom shortly...

Playdate with Sophie

So Sam and Sophie have been in the same class in school for the past almost 2 years. THey have become best buds. Sophie is about 3-4 weeks older then Sam so always ready to move up a few weeks before Sam and after that happened the first time and Sam completely melted down we learned that when Sophie moves up classrooms so does Sam. Now that we are all in agreement on this, the transitons are seemless....

Since I do a lot of the drop offs and pick ups I have gotten to know Sophies mom and we have started having a few playdates with the girls. WE had them to our house for dinner and playing a month or so ago and 2 weeks ago they had us over.

Sam and Sophie are two peas in a pod. Here are a few pics from the playdate...

Sam loves to hug Sophie and get hugs from Sophie...I can already see a long term friendship...heheh
