Results of test....and birthday cake........

Well Wednesday afternoon I got the call from my doctors office that all my bloodwork came back fine...I was thrilled...So now I can splurge a little more than I was on sweets....
And right as I was thinking that birthday cake showed up at the office for one of my coworkers...Don't think I didn't take it upon myself to have a nice large piece...It was delicious....

I keep asking myself when are those darn girl scout cookies that I ordered going to show up already..I am drooling with anticipation!!!

Glucose Test....ughhh.....

Well I had the Glucose Challenge test yesterday.... I had heard so many different opinions like it was the worst thing ever to my friend who can not eat enough candy that it was not a big deal..Well I also had heard make sure to get the orange flavor..Let me back up for those that don't know they give you this can (about the size of a soda) full of this really sugary concoction. You have to fast from midnight the night before until you are done. You drink it and they take your blood an hour later to see if you are a candidate for gestational diabetes hence another worse test that is 4 hours long if you fail the first one (fingers crossed I pass, results will be back late this week or early next week)....So back to my story I assumed I had an orange container as it looked orange and I had very sneakely pushed it to the back of the fridge so I wouldn't have to look at it for a month. I went to start drinking it at home yesterday morning and it was red and the fruit punch flavor...Great....It tasted like hawaiin punch on steroids.... You only have 5 minutes to get it down. So nerdy me I set the timer...Needless to say there was still 2 minutes left after I was done...I got it down like a champ...I felt a tad jittery on my way into the doctors office but fine...They took my blood pretty quickly and really not bad...Considering I am a total wheeeny!!! The doctor got called off to surgery so I ended up meeting with the nurse practitioner and was told to keep plugging along I was doing fine..

But the best part of the whole appointment was when she finally told me what my weight gain was for the month....3 POUNDS!!!! YEAH!!! Much better then last month which was 7....So very grateful....I guess watching what I eat and trying to eat healthier really paid off.

Samantha's room looks AWESOME now that Dan has finished painting it a light green... With dark wood furniture looks very classic. We are hoping to go order a chair for the room this weekend then get 1-2 items to hang on the walls and we will be close to getting it done. I will definitely take a few pictures soon....

Also tonight is Chewy's (our adorable Italian Greyhound) second brithday....I just spent my lunch hour at Petsmart buying her a few things including a new bed (she gets a new bed about every 6 months because silly us we forget what she does to them AKA destroys them) so can't wait to see how she likes the new one..And how long it lasts..Dan has a work dinner...darn....but I can spoil her for the evening all on my own....heheheh It will be her last birthday as our only child..heheh Her little world is about to be flipped upside down with the impending arrival of little Samantha...hehehe

One more thing to note we spent some awesome time this past weekend visiting some of Dan's close friends (Lance and Andrea and their little boy Wes) from college touring the TCU campus and just all around catching up..I had never been to the TCU campus before and for all the times we drove in, near or around Norman I made Dan walk around OU's campus it was time for some payback....They took us to a super cute baby store on the way to campus that had really cute school spirit items..Needless to say we bought a onesie for TCU and one for OU...Had to be equal on that... Little Samantha can make up her own mind on which school to root for but for now we can have her all decked out for watching the games in our alma mater..heheh

24 1/2 weeks...........

Here is the latest and greatest picture of me at 24 1/2 weeks...

Wowsers my stomach has really popped out there since my last picture at 20 weeks.....

So as we speak my awesome hubby is home painting the babies room a light shade of green. This was him last night taping the room in preparation for todays painting...

Look how happy he looks...I am not sure if it is the thought of spending the next day painting the room or the beer...I like the beer front and center and not too far from reach....

And look how unhappy Chewy is since she is being locked out of the baby's room while the painting is going on...

So she then proceeds to follow me around the house all evening and hide in the pile of laundry, and bury her sorrows, as I am trying to fold... Oh poor thing...She looks so pathetic.....

Also yesterday while at the mall returning a few items I saw the cutest little hat at baby gap that I just had to get....

They even had the cutest little 0-3 month old swimsuits and little coverups I almost went a little crazy and bought one of each but my hubby had to rein me in...He did not like the cute little one piece I picked out (thought it was cheesy) so then I proceeded to pick out a bikini for her and he just laughed...I think that is another discussion for another day....

I can not wait to get home from work today to see the finished product of the room...YEAH!!! Then I can start really decorating it.....

We also watched the movie Knocked Up last night and let me just tell you , in case you have not seen it, the scene where Katherine Heigl just goes psycho is a must see for all husbands with a pregnant wife because I could tell him look how crazy she is I have not done anything that crazy, not even close....It was pretty funny scene but kinda a downer movie overall...Oh well .....

Painting the baby's room....

That is the next order of business this coming weeknd for my awesome husband who has a 3-day weekend.... We are having over my in-laws tonight to have them help us move the crib and dresser (yeah not the smartest idea for me to be doing any heavy lifting these days) and they are even bringing over dinner...yummy!!! I am so thrilled....

Believe it or not I have been pretty good watching what I eat...Not just watching it go in my mouth but watching what I am putting in my mouth and hoping my weight gain is not quite what it was last month... Well I did slip up last night and had cheese fries at Snuffers..I mean who goes to Snuffers and does not get cheese fries? It would be a sin....

On to other news I started getting pretty uncomfortable last week in my lingerie on top.... and I sent out an SOS to my girls to find out where to buy new lingerie on top.....This was after i came home from the mavericks game and noticed my chest was getting bruised because they were so tight....So after getting lots of wonderful advice (thanks girls!!!) I went to Motherhood Maternity on Sunday and got measured for new lingerie....Now as I am so used to embarrasing myself I was telling this story to a few people this week and they were like no don't put it on the blog.....But what the heck it is just too darn funny not to share, so here is a scaled down version....So I have been a certain small size my entire life..I am totally fine with that... so when the girl was measuring me my husband was down a couple of stores looking at sports items....And of course he has impeccable timing to walk in to meet me right as she is announcing my new size, and when I say announcing I mean making a big deal about it like it is the best news ever and everyone in the entire mall I am sure heard........Needless to say I was flabbergasted and mortified all at the same time and Dan's OMG exclamation was pretty darn funny too......I had gone up 2 whole cup sizes....WOOOOOOWSERS....I had no idea...Well no wonder I was turning black and blue.....GHEEEESH...so I bought 3 new items of lingerie and have never felt so good and had so much room in my life (again why did I not do this sooner?)....YEAH!!!!!

One more funny story I have noticed strangers being a little kinder to me lately...Like letting me cut in the bathroom line, etc...I mean really I do have quite the belly but Monday I had a business lunch with some people that I really consider friends too. They met us there and me and my co-worker go down to this very swanky little place in downtown Las colinas...Granted got a little lost with my directions on the way there but that is not part of this story...So we valet park and go in and there is like 3 tables and a bar on the level you walk in on..so we tell them we are meeting some people there and they usher us over to an elevator hit the button for us....I am thinking the stairs appear to be right there I am sure I am fine but the host is determined to get us in the elevator...So the door opens and he gets us in hits the button for us and then turns to leave..Which I think very strange but okay so we turn around to look out at the view of the restaurant as we descend one floor and there goes the host like lightning running down the stairs...heheh pretty funny...Meets us at the bottom and then shows us to the table...So my question is why did he not get in the elevator with us? and what does he do when he is really slammed with seatign people and a lot of people show up at the same time? and did he think I took up that much room in the elevator he couldn't fit? All very intriguing questions.....
